You can tell The Body Shop have put a lot of research and thought into these skincare products and I think it really is a lovely range and a great way to introduce yourself to oils and if you are familiar with oils then I’d say it’s a very good value for money range with lots of benefits, so go treat yourself. As for modern research and chemical composition, the fixed oil from the seeds is richin skin-nourishing unsaturated fatty acids ( mainly linoleic acid at 50 – 60%and oleic acid at 20%, but also contains some rare ones like C20:2 arachidic and eicosadienoic acids), amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. A component called thymoquinone (it's the main component of the volatile oil part, but the fixed oil also contains some) is considered to give the seed its main therapeutic properties including strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory abilities. Helps fade dark circles, reduce fine lines and depuff bags to leave the eye contour looking radiant Because it is a gel-cream texture you have the hydration of a cream with the lighter consistency of a gel which leaves your under eye area well prepped and beautifully hydrated for makeup. It lends itself well when working with concealers and fighting the dreaded ‘concealer crease’, this lighter texture from being a ‘gel-cream’ hybrid means it doesn’t cause any creasing with my concealers (this maybe a skincare goodie that might make it into my pro kit).

The ultra-light and smoothing eye cream-gel feels fresh upon application and melts onto skin. Infused with three precious seed oils, eye contours are visibly revitalized and look more radiant. It only takes the smallest amount (I’m talking about quart of a pea size) to cover the entire eye area. The formula dries super fast and leaves a completely matte finish to my skin. It doesn’t provide very much in terms of hydration (so I wouldn’t recommend this for dry skin), however it does make my skin area feel very smooth and soft. The biggest downside is that the formula leaves behind a film that ‘rolls off’ when I rub my fingers on my skin. This is an immediate turn-off for me. Sounds good from the title doesn’t it? This is my favorite product in the Oils of Life range. I really do like using an essence lotion, see similar from 001 skincare. You can use this after cleansing and before serum or moisturiser, so it’s sort of like a toner. It gives your skin a nice light coverage of the lotion, nothing greasy feeling and revitalises your skin and prepares it for the next step in your routine. Essence lotions are very popular in Asia and aren’t as familiar over here, so it’s great to see The Body Shop adding one to this collection. If you are unsure, go into the shop and give it a little try, I’m pretty sure you’ll like it. Gently tap a pea-sized dollop into the skin around your eyes twice a day.
